Carole Fraser – Studio Owner
Certified Romana’s Pilates Instructor Level 3
Carole has always had an interest in health and fitness and discovered Pilates in 2000. In 2003, after intensive training in both Sydney and Seattle, Carole was tested by Joseph Pilates’ world-renowned protege Romana Kryzanowska and became the fourth person in NZ to be certified in Romana’s Pilates. Carole became the proud owner of Pilates Unlimited in 2007 and has developed the studio into New Zealand’s premier Training Centre for Romana’s Pilates. This ensures that trainees can complete their certification courses entirely in New Zealand, and receive ongoing training from world-class overseas visiting teacher trainers. Carole also travels worldwide each year to learn from other instructors and ensure that Pilates Unlimited remains at the highest level of teaching. Outside of Pilates Carole enjoys walking each morning, half-marathons and mountain walks.
Ray’s background is in personal training. He has practiced massage therapy for over 15 years, and brings to Pilates his full understanding of the human body. Ray has been teaching Authentic Pilates at Pilates Unlimited since 2002. As well as working out at the studio on a regular basis, Ray is a very keen golfer and takes a round of golf most Sundays.
Ray also plays a role in teaching apprentices as they progress through the instructor training programme, and he has been awarded the Level 4 certification for these responsibilities.
Lizzie has been teaching Pilates for ten years, the last six of which have been at Pilates Unlimited. She originally completed her Stott Pilates certification, before becoming passionate about the authentic Romana’s Pilates method. Lizzie enjoys learning from the many teacher trainers who visit the studio for workshops and lessons. In addition to Pilates Lizzie lectures part-time in literature at Auckland University.
Jeneal grew up surrounded by a very athletic family which is why she has an innate passion for anything to do with fitness and well being. She’s tried many forms of exercise, from being a serious gym goer to a cross fitter, a walker to a runner. But when she discovered Romana’s Authentic Pilates, she knew she had found her calling and signed up for the Instructor’s Programme.
On top of Jeneal’s Pilates commitment, she owns and runs a well known advertising recruitment business.
Vanessa is an ex New Zealand hurdles champion and her success and passion in track and field athletics has flowed across to the field of Pilates. Vanessa was originally a client of Pilates Unlimited 12 years ago and has progressed from client to instructor through our inaugural instructor training programme in 2009. She is also a qualified Personal Trainer and comes with a strong belief and knowledge that your body will benefit from the power of the authentic pilates method to help support your future wellbeing.
Harriette has always had a strong personal focus on health and fitness, and has competed nationally in both speed skating and body building. She was part of the first group of instructors who began the instructor training programme at Pilates Unlimited in 2009. Harriette attended the international Romana’s Pilates Conference in Nice in 2012 and always takes the opportunity to have lessons with teacher trainers in New Zealand and abroad. She is a firm believer in the benefits of Pilates for overall health and wellbeing and helps her clients to improve their quality of life through the authentic Pilates method.
Natalia da Costa Claudino
Natalia has been a Pilates instructor for over eight years. From São Paulo, Brazil, she graduated in physical therapy 10 years ago, with a postgraduate in personal training, sports management and physical training. Her knowledge of body and mind, together with physiotherapy, provide clients many benefits, whether physical or psychological, that act directly in their posture and place in the world. She believes that the development of the mind allied to the conscious movement returns an individual’s possession to themselves, freeing them for full happiness. As a motto: “provide beyond success to the client, build the way to happiness”. Natalia is looking forward to teaching in New Zealand.
2018 graduate, Rose Castillo is Chilean and comes from a background in music, theatre, and circus arts. She discovered Yoga and Pilates as a way to keep mentally, physically, and spiritually fit. Rose believes that anyone, no matter what age or physical condition, can improve their quality of life by practicing the authentic Pilates method.
2018 graduate, Marcelle Masera is really passionate about movement, health and well-being. She used to be a swimming athlete for long time when she was younger. She’s tried many different sports, but five years ago surfing was the favourite one. Marcelle came to NZ from Brazil to start new studies and pursue her passion as a career. She’s done Pilates before back in Brazil, but she met the Romana’s method for the first time through Pilates Unlimited and it was as love at first sight.
2018 graduate, Joao Duarte is from the south of Brazil. For eight years he worked in the hotel industry around New Zealand. In 2015 he changed his lifestyle by focusing more on his wellbeing, fitness and nutrition as well as went for a career move, now working with people with Intellectual Disability. Joao reconnected with the Pilates method in 2016 and now seeks a career as an Instructor, his objective is to help others improve their overall quality of life and truly believing Pilates is a key ingredient in one’s recipe for ideal balance.
Sun Ah Bae (SONIA)
2018 graduate, Sonia came to NZ from Korea in 2007 with her husband , she now has two Kiwi/Korean children. In Korea Sonia taught swimming to children and adults. Sonia has been a client at the studio for nearly two years and has always had an interest in teaching Pilates.
Sandra has always had a keen interest in health and fitness, and has participated in a wide range of sports including the national triathlon championships.
