Welcome to Our Studio

Pilates Unlimited opened its doors in 2000 and is now a well-established studio located in Takapuna Beach, North Shore, Auckland. It also operates as a training centre directly affiliated with Romana’s Pilates based in the USA. The studio is fully equipped with top-of-the-range equipment from Gratz, imported from New York. This apparatus was designed by Joseph Pilates and used by his protégé Romana Kryzanowska and her teachers for decades. We believe that the work and the equipment go hand in hand. At Pilates Unlimited we offer to help you establish a workout that you will truly enjoy—every individual receives a programme within the authentic system of exercises that is tailored to his or her needs and fitness level.

How do I get Started?

One-on-One Sessions

The best way to maximise results and the understanding of the Method is by having one-on-one private sessions twice a week.

Duo Sessions

The duo workouts are popular with clients who have a full understanding of the Method and have been a client for some time.

Mat Classes

To attend a mat class this must be approved by the studio. Numbers in the class are limited therefore bookings are essential.

Tower Classes

These classes are aimed at the level of the group. To participate, you need to be at a good intermediate level.

Carole Fraser – Studio Owner

Certified Romana’s Pilates Instructor Level 3

Carole has always had an interest in health and fitness and discovered Pilates in 2000. In 2003, after intensive training in both Sydney and Seattle, Carole was tested by Joseph Pilates’ world-renowned protege Romana Kryzanowska and became the fourth person in NZ to be certified in Romana’s Pilates. Carole became the proud owner of Pilates Unlimited in 2007 and has developed the studio into New Zealand’s premier Training Centre for Romana’s Pilates. This ensures that trainees can complete their certification courses entirely in New Zealand, and receive ongoing training from world-class overseas visiting teacher trainers. Carole also travels worldwide each year to learn from other instructors and ensure that Pilates Unlimited remains at the highest level of teaching. Outside of Pilates Carole enjoys walking each morning, half-marathons and mountain walks.

How do I get started

The best way to learn Pilates is with regular private lessons twice a week. We offer a Starter Pack for new clients that includes five private lessons and two free mat classes to get you started. These lessons can be booked at a time to suit you.

Private lessons typically begin with some work on the Reformer apparatus, bringing awareness to alignment and working from the powerhouse. The instructors will then teach selected exercises on the mat and other apparatus to address your particular needs and goals. Over time, the sessions will include more advanced exercises and different pieces of equipment to provide a constantly challenging and varied workout—so you never get bored!

Mat classes and tower classes are a great option for clients with a good understanding of the method. The studio also offers duo lessons for two people of a similar level—this can be a good way to work out with a family member or friend.
